Chapter 1308 — Surprise

Blade of Dawn Page 3 of 3

It was as if some colossal, immeasurably vast creature were burrowing through the depths of the soil, as if something terrible... or some structure deep beneath the earth were breaking through to the surface.

"Hierarch!!!" The terrified shriek of a lower-ranking priest shattered the dark druid's thoughts. "Something's burrowing up from underground!!"

The dark druid commanding the legion instinctively raised his head and looked toward the far end of the army ahead.

There, countless nightmare-like, hideous giant vines burst from deep within the earth, and in an instant recombined and transformed into towering trees; thorned bramble vines lashed the scorched soil that had once lain at the foot of the Great Wall, and the sturdy mutants, the enormous "behemoths," the toxin-oozing bio-synthetic beasts, and the mana monsters—these creatures, which should have been hideous and terrifying, were pierced through one after another, coiled into the air, their desperate writhing struggles high above resembling flies caught in a Venus flytrap.

A verdant barrier of astonishing scale was piercing through the land at the edge of the Black Forest, taking shape in an extremely short time, and a faintly familiar female voice somehow crossed this vast battlefield and exploded like thunder through the dark druid's nervous system:

"A surprise, my former kin, Hierarch Bertram."
