Chapter 213 — What Cecil Territory Can Sell

Blade of Dawn Page 2 of 2

"You're way more vicious than me, all right?!" Gao Yang glared at Amber, then shook his head and explained: "I'm not planning to swindle my future subjects. The potions are being shipped to Kant Territory because that has always been the largest medicinal-herb distribution center in the Southern Region; besides herbs, there has always been an alchemical potion trade there. Mr. Padric, who currently manages the affairs of Kant Territory, was Viscount Kant's advisor and is also the guild's contact; he has the channels to help us sell the surplus potions. I plan to make him the 'agent' for Cecil's alchemical potions, splitting the proceeds from potion sales with me—that way Cecil Territory earns a good deal, Kant Territory gets a share of the profit, and it's good for everyone."

"...Another one of these things where everyone benefits," Amber blinked. "But... this is a huge benefit. Is there really no one... who loses out?"

"There is," Gao Yang said, "Of course someone loses out—all the third-party potion merchants, apothecaries, druids, and alchemists on Kant Territory's trade routes. They will inevitably be hit hard."

Amber's eyes widened: "Then..."

"I'll send out recruitment notices at the appropriate time, and then the territory's shortage of alchemy talent will be solved. With a bit of training, those people will be real assets in the alchemy factory."

This time, Amber was left merely staring blankly with nothing to say. She could more or less follow the earlier steps of Gao Song's operation, but this final step left her eyes wide and speechless. After a long while, she realized something from the bottom of her heart:

When a cunning ancient heroic spirit revived and intended to stir up trouble, the so-called schemes and intrigues those gutter thugs usually bragged about were not worth mentioning at all.

"With such a massive quantity of alchemical potions flowing into the market—even the most ordinary Rejuvenation Potion—it will be enough to deal a huge shock to this market," Pi Yun stroked his beard, half smiling, half not. "Even with just this one set of reaction tanks, its round-the-clock output is enough to crush the combined output of all the alchemists in Cecil Territory, Kant Territory, Lesley Territory, and even Carol Territory farther north. My lord, I think I finally understand what you meant when you said 'mass production will be the first step in destroying the old order.' But have you considered—once such vast quantities of potions bearing the Cecil label enter the market, we will inevitably attract curiosity and attention from all sides..."

"Yes, they will be curious and pay attention, but that takes reaction time, and for mere alchemical potions the attention drawn will be quite limited. This little bit of curiosity and attention is nothing to me—it may even be beneficial," Gao Yang said. "Compared with alchemical potions, what I plan to roll out next will likely cause a far greater shock..."

"What you plan to roll out next?" Amber looked at Gao Yang curiously. "What else do you plan to sell?"

Gao Yang patted Amber's head: "I plan to sell something to Tamsin Town, but the details aren't settled yet. You'll know when the time comes."

Amber blinked, but this time even when she and Rebecca stepped forward to press him together, Gao Yang would not answer any more, so the two girls had to shut their mouths full of curiosity.

Gao Yang stood beneath Reaction Tank No. 1, looking up at this "chemical equipment" that blended every kind of cutting-edge technology currently in Cecil Territory. Watching those magic runes quietly flicker and change, listening to the noise produced in operation by the various auxiliary mechanisms and arrays that injected liquid into the vessel, supplied heat, and released divine arts, a smile slowly spread across his face.

The path was right—then everything else would be much easier.
