Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...

Years of Heartflutter Page 458 of 501

"That's the one," the Hawkeye Group steward nodded. "This friend of mine works as an assassin broker and has connections with all the major assassin groups in the world. Looks like I found the right person this time."

"Good." Ouyang Junyuan nodded and said, "Then have him contact the Butterfly Assassin Group. This time, let's see if Yang Ce dies or not."

"But Second Young Master, this man is a broker—he'll likely charge a hefty commission," the Hawkeye Group steward said.

"Whatever the commission is, give it to him, as long as he can find me truly formidable assassins," Ouyang Junyuan said carelessly. "Money? I have plenty. The key is whether they can take out Yang Ce."

"Understood. I'll contact him right away," the Hawkeye Group steward said with a nod.

"Contact him now. Immediately, Old Steward. I can't wait any longer. Just thinking about Yang Ce being finished fills me with delight." It was as if the stifling air pent up in Ouyang Junyuan's chest had suddenly dispersed, and he felt much lighter. "Oh, and don't forget—the woman by Yang Ce's side too. Kill her as well. She must be killed."

The old steward took out his phone and began contacting his assassin-broker friend. "Mr. Smith? It's me, Number Two of the Hawkeye Group. Yes, that's right, me. The job I mentioned to you last time."

The old steward relayed Ouyang Junyuan's wishes to Mr. Smith. Of course, Mr. Smith's real name was certainly not Smith—that was merely a code name. In the assassination business, few ever showed their true names.

Smith said something on the other end, and the old steward hung up only then, satisfied.

"How did it go?" Ouyang Junyuan asked impatiently.

"Should be no problem," the old steward of the Hawkeye Assassin Group said. "Mr. Smith says this is a very ordinary job, and Yang Shuoxuan isn't a celebrity in politics or business, so there's no difficulty. The Butterfly Assassin Group shouldn't refuse. Now we just wait for word."

Ouyang Junyuan's face broke into a gleeful smile. In his eyes, Yang Ce was already a dead man. The world's number one assassin group—could they possibly fail to handle Yang Ce? Obviously not.

To be continued.

Chapter 1041: The Truth After Amnesia

Half an hour later, Smith called back. The old steward hurriedly answered. "Hello, Mr. Smith."

"The Butterfly Assassin Group has accepted your job. Send the target's detailed information to my mailbox. The commission is two million US dollars, and I take a twenty percent brokerage fee of two hundred thousand." Smith said, "The original commission was one point five million, but you added another person. Even though it's just a woman, the commission has to increase accordingly."

"Good, I understand." After hearing the quote, the old steward breathed a sigh of relief. This price was acceptable to them.

"No problem, right?" Smith asked.

"No problem. I'll send the information to your email shortly, and wire the commission and brokerage fee to your account," the old steward said.

"OK. Pleasure doing business," Smith said.

The old steward hung up and relayed Smith's message to Ouyang Junyuan, who nodded and said, "The price really isn't expensive. My father should have hired someone to take out Yang Ce back then—why bother doing it himself?"

The old steward couldn't help but smile bitterly. "Who could have predicted that Yang Ce would be so formidable that even Yanchi Xia 001 was no match for him?"

Ouyang Junyuan said nothing more. After all, it was too late for words now. Only by killing Yang Ce could he vent the hatred in his heart. He had the old steward withdraw money from finance and wire it to Smith, then began quietly waiting for news.

Today was the day Zhou Yanning and Lin Yanhe were coming back. These past few days, Chen Shutang had been staying at his own home, so Yang Ce had simply been holed up in Wang Yanqiu's boudoir, the two of them cultivating their rapport for the partnership, enjoying it immensely.

The boss behind the woman in black didn't seem to have made any further moves. Yang Juehuan's security system had been installed, but apart from him, no one else had set foot in Wang Yanqiu's residence.

"I have to go now. Be careful living on your own." In the morning, after Yang Ce and Wang Yanqiu finished breakfast together, Yang Moyi said reluctantly. It would be impossible to say he had no feelings for Wang Yanqiu. Yang Shuoxuan was growing more and more curious about her family affairs, but since Wang Yanqiu was unwilling to bring it up, Yang Shuoxuan didn't press further.

"Mm." Wang Yanqiu felt the same as Yan. For some reason, her heart felt sour. Now that Yang Juehuan's two girlfriends were back, Yang Ce would have much less time to spend with her.

Yang Shuyu said that saying anything more at this moment would only add to the sorrow, so to lighten the mood, he joked, "Come on, let's hug—a farewell hug."

"Go to hell, you're just trying to take advantage again. Hurry up and go." Wang Yanqiu couldn't help but laugh. "All right, but after you leave, don't forget about the assassin group business."

"Don't worry, I own half of the assassin group too," Yang Yuting said with a nod.

After leaving Wang Yanqiu's villa, Yang Ce drove toward the expressway. Although President Hua would certainly send a car to escort him, Yang Moyi was too impatient and rushed over to meet them instead.

These past few days, Zhou Yanning had been very confused—confused about what had happened to her a while back. She had a habit of keeping a diary. Before, she wrote in a diary book; later, she switched to writing on the computer.

In Yang Juehuan's villa, though the furnishings in her room had been copied one-to-one from her home in Donghai, everything was newly bought—the computer included—so even if Zhou Yanning wanted to look up the diary she had written during this period, she was powerless to do so.

Once home, Zhou Yanning could not wait to pull up the diary she had written some time ago and read it, but the further she read, the more puzzled she became. The events recorded in the diary showed no deviation or discrepancy whatsoever from what she remembered.

From her mother telling her to get close to Wang Lin, to her sneaking into Wang Lin's home to gather evidence, all the way up to the day before she took a bullet for Yang Ce—the diary's contents matched her memory perfectly.

In other words, she had not been Yang Juehuan's girlfriend before, and she surely had not gone through anything as absurd as traveling through time. Then why had Yang Ce said she had been his girlfriend all along?

True, when she was injured, Yang Ce had promised he would accept her, but that was a far cry from having been his girlfriend before.

And Chen Shutang and Lin Yanhe said the same thing. Could it be that all three of them had traveled through time? The very idea was far too crazy—all but impossible.

Today was the day they returned to Songjiang. Over the past two days Zhou Yanning had thought a great deal about the past but still could not make sense of it, so on the road back to Songjiang she finally could not hold back and said to Lin Yanhe, "Sister Lin, there's something I want to ask you. You wouldn't lie to me, would you?"

"Huh? What is it?" Lin Yanhe was taken aback and looked at Zhou Yanning in confusion, not understanding what she could possibly want to ask, and in such a mysterious manner at that.

"First tell me whether you'd lie to me," Zhou Yanning pressed, without saying what it was about. From the past two days of contact with Lin Yanhe, she had seen what kind of person Lin Yanhe was—a girl who was not good at lying.

"Of course I wouldn't, Sister Jiajia. What do you want to ask me?" Lin Yanhe shook her head and asked.

"Sister Lin, tell me—before I was hospitalized, I was Yang Juehuan's girlfriend, wasn't I?" Zhou Yanning raised her head and looked into Lin Yanhe's eyes as she asked.
